There are many air purifiers on the market, but the truth is the Medify MA 2.0 may be the best value in terms of price meeting quality.

The Medify MA 2.0 was released as an upgraded model in March 2020.

There are many good qualities of the Medify MA 2.0 that make it one of the best air purifiers on the market, but you will need to know certain aspects of this air filtration system.

In this Medify MA 2.0 review, you will learn everything you need to know about this purification system and determine if it’s the right one for you.

Features of the Medify MA 40 2.0 Design

The Medify MA 40 2.0 has a neat design with the grill holes in the front of the unit and control panel on top of the unit which is a touchscreen.

You can get the Medify MA 40 2.0 in either white or black.

The unit is not an eyesore but not as cool looking as the Airocide APS-200.

Size

The Medify MA 40 2.0 is relatively tall but not wide. It’s not overly burdensome either, so it can easily be moved around the home. In my opinion, it’s the perfect size for an air purifier.

Here are the dimensions:

Height: 22.”

Width: 9.9.”

Depth: 10.9.”

Weight: 15.5 lbs

Air Exchanges Per Hour And Cleaning Air Delivery Rate (CADR)

Medify states that their unit can clean 420 square feet of air every 15 minutes with four air exchanges an hour and 840 Square Feet every 30 minutes with two air exchanges per hour.

The cleaning air delivery air delivery rate for this unit is 330 cfm, similar to that of the Alen BreateSmart 75i.

While this unit states it can cover 840 square feet, based on the EPA’s recommendations for minimum CADR per square footage, this unit will be much more effective in cleaning an area 500 square feet and under.

Nevertheless, the CADR of the unit is very impressive at this price point.

Filters

The Medify MA 40 2.0 has four levels of filtration. Their filtration system is a big reason why this is one of my favorite air purifiers for mold.

These are the components of the four-step filtration system:

Pre-Filter: The pre-filter is going to remove larger particles to extend the life of the other filters. Big particles can include pet dander and other fibers.

H3 HEPA Filter: This is a real deal medical-grade true HEPA filter. This filter can catch particles all the way down to 0.1 microns at a 99.97% success rate. It will easily catch pretty much all mold spores, dust mites, pollen, and most other particles.

Carbon Filter: Carbon filters are great for removing odors.

Ion Generator: The ion generator lets off negatively charged ions to knock down positively charged ions from the air to the ground where they can be cleaned off surfaces such as the floor. This unit is approved by the California Air Resources Board to ensure it doesn’t emit an unsafe amount of ozone.

With the H3 HEPA filter, this unit can be trusted to clean up the air. Along with the Enviroklenz Mobile Air System, this is my favorite filter for an air purification system.

If you do not want to use the ion generator, this unit is entirely functional without it, with the other filters in place.

The only downside is the H3 HEPA filter needs to be changed every six months.

Fan Speeds And Noise

The Medify MA 40 2.0 has three fan speeds and sleep mode. When on sleep mode, the system lowers the fan speed and turns off all the lights.

One of the things I do not like about the Medify MA 40 2.0 is the noise level on the high fan setting. At 66 decibels it can be quite noisy.

Other Control Panel Settings

Besides changing the fan speed, the control panel of the top of the MA 40 2.0 has other features including:

Filter Change Light: The filter change light lets you know when it’s time to change your filter

Timer: The timer can be set for 1, 2, 4 or eight hours

Child Lock: The child lock is meant so your kids can’t mess with the unit and change the settings.

Anion: There is a button you can turn the ion generator on or off, making it completely optional.

Price

This is where the Medify MA 40 2.0 really shines. I am mostly not a fan of most mid-priced air purifiers. Most have regular HEPA filters and do not do a great job of catching airborne particles, but that’s not the case of the Medify MA 40 2.0.

I believe it’s undervalued in price.

You can get it now for $274.98.

The H3 HEPA filter is $69.99, and the set of four filters is $229.96

So, while the filters can get quite expensive, the unit is not.

Warranty

One of the things that I like about Medify is that it’s a US company.

Medify hasn’t been around all that long, but they have an excellent reputation. They offer a lifetime warranty with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Pros and Cons of the Medify MA 40 2.0

There are drawbacks to just about any air purifier. Since that’s the case, let’s check out the pros and cons of the Medify MA 40 2.0:

Pros

• Uses a medical-grade H13 True HEPA filter will remove particles as small as 0.1 microns • Low cost but very high quality • Four-step filtration system • Carbon filter to remove odors • Ion generator to remove airborne particles • Easy to move around • Three fan settings and sleep mode • Child lock • Covers up to 840 per square feet per the manufacturer • Very energy efficient

In this Medify MA 40 2.0 review, you could see exactly why this air purifier is where quality and value meet.

For the price, it’s easily one of the best air purifiers on the market. The fact that it has the H13 true HEPA filter for the mid-priced range is simply amazing.

If you want an air purifier that is great at removing airborne contaminants and remove odors without breaking the bank, the Medify MA 40 2.0 is probably for you.
